In Japan, butterflies symbolizes transformation and metamorphosis. This is a great metaphor for death and rebirth. A departed soul either takes the form of a butterfly or is guided by butterflies to the afterlife. Along with the rich meaning of transformation, butterflies also symbolizes love and womanhood because of its grace and beauty.
These light-weight origami butterflies are handmade from laser-cut wood and Japanese chiyogami paper. They are meant to be hung as an ornamental display. Both the front and back are covered in the same paper design. They are well sealed by hand for durability. Even though they are water resistant due to the many layers of sealant, please do not soak them in water or display outdoors. Displaying in areas with prolonged direct sun exposure may cause the colors to fade over time. The butterflies are fragile and delicate parts may break if dropped on a hard surface, so please handle with care. These butterflies will last for a long time with proper care.
Each butterfly will be packaged individually in a protective box.
